Kalayaan Power Plant Restoration Works Units 1 & 2
CBK Power Company Limited
CBK Complex, Brgy. San Juan
(2) 180 MW Francis Pump Turbines
When due to unfortunate conditions, Units 1 and 2 flooded in the Kalayaan Power Station, CBK Power Company Limited turned to L&S Electric for a fast and reliable solution to restore the operations - after all, L&S Electric had already successfully modernized Units 3 & 4 in 2002. Mr. Kenuske Saito, CBK Technical Adviser for the Restoration Works explained that among the reasons they quickly chose L&S Electric was in part to “the immediate response from L&S Electric, which was very helpful and reassuring.” He added, “by having the same governors, we would standardize in spare parts, operating, and maintenance procedures”.
The scope of participation for L&S Electric included digital governors, complete hydraulic power units (HPU) with air-over-oil accumulator tanks and L&S-7500 main distributing valves; the HPUs also featured a PLC-base controller and a Kidney Loop Filter. In addition to providing the equipment in a timely fashion, L&S Electric also provided the Installation Supervision, Commissioning, and Training.
